My Beloved Husband, James A. Kennedy, DVM, MS
I love my new life helping with rescue horses and troubled youth and equine-assisted sessions for military veterans. (http://thesonandreinsranch.yfc.net/ and www.combatveteranscowboyup.org). But this love goes much, much deeper.
I never thought I would make it through the severest of life storms. I wanted to give up many times. But God is stretching me in this difficult world. He wants me to show His light, to serve Him, to love Him and to serve others.
The light of Christ has kept me going. “Emmanuel” (God with us) who came as a baby in a manger reminds me every day of His priceless gift … the gift of salvation. Isaiah 9:6 states, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Corrie Ten Boom, I believe says it the best: “Who can add to Christmas? The perfect motive is that God so loved the world. The perfect gift is that He gave His only Son. The only requirement is to believe in Him. The reward of faith is that you shall have everlasting life.”
This is an original Thomas Edison hand-blown light bulb. Edison invented his bulbs in 1879. This one still works and is in my family’s possession. Although it is a precious bulb, it is nothing compared to the real light of the world.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12).
Will you remember this “light” at just Christmas, or every day of your life?
My hope is you pursue and accept this light and let it shine for all to see!
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!
